Networks Beyond Borders
Interactive online documentary website about diaspora networks, both economic and religious. Includes custom designed and programmed navigation system, full-screen video and original photography, archival photos with interactive sliders, original music production, and original cartography. Heavy jQuery work in animation and UI/UX; true full stack work for optimizing video delivery, backend. I was also a field researcher (independent travel to Senegal, Singapore, and Myanmar) and the photographer on this project, via the Development Research Initiative, a think tank at NYU, collaborating with William Easterly and Kellie Leeson.
U.S. Financial Diaries
A site to display research and updates on U.S. Financial Diaries project (NYU), a study that tracked more than 200 low- and moderate-income households over the course of a year
to collect highly detailed data on how families manage their finances on a day-to-day basis. Fully custom design and template development, built in Squarespace platform.
Mobile/tablet/screen responsive site. Trained USFD staff to update site in Squarespace 7.
Greene Street Project
Interactive online documentary website on the economic history of 1 block of SoHo in New York. Part of larger project with Development Research Initiative, NYU, with William Easterly and Laura Freschi.
The Red Pen
A new alternative scholarly journal, with foundations in digital humanities. Design of logo/identity, website, and development; also founding member and involved with creation of the project.

Financial Access Initiative
A site to display research and updates from the Financial Access Initiative, a research center at NYU Wagner that focuses on exploring how financial services can better meet the needs and improve the lives of poor households. Fully custom design and template development, within Squarespace platform.

A site for New York class action law firm Pomerantz LLP. Includes over 200 archived cases, signature-enabled certification forms, custom widgets for notable cases and "join action" on the home page, 2 dozen attorney profiles, custom Pomerantz Monitor online journal articles, special page for BP PC and Petrobras litigation, and blog for recent news.
Work also included developing PomSecure website, an encrypted portal for uploading and downloading files for specific clients. Custom client log-in. Integration with Tresorit, an encrypted cloud service.
Mobile/tablet/screen responsive site. Worked with English/French. Trained Pomerantz staff to update site in Squarespace 7.

E-commerce site for startup art gallery based in New York, selling contemporary works. Responsive design work in consultation with the CEO of the gallery.

For architectural design and visualization firm AJSNY, an interactive map of their projects around the world. Designed and coded this map. Used KML data from Excel spreadsheet.
ARC/GIS Graduate Course, Yale
As an undergraduate I took a gradute seminar on Remote Sensing, and used Landsat imagery, custom supervised classifications, and Digital Elevation Monitoring (DEM) data to analyze any visible signs of recent climate change in Lake Qinghai, Tibet.
Writing on the City: Graffiti, Urban Texts, and the Politics of Taking Space
My thesis in both the Literature and Anthropology majors at Yale included GIS work on graffiti tags in the city of New Haven. Won the Calabresi Prize for Best Thesis in Literature, and 2nd Sapir Prize for Anthropology. Read Excerpt | Read Published Article, ARTERI Cyprus
Turf Cutting, Obama Presidential Campaign, 2008 + 2012
This is what turf cutting looks like! As an organizer, I worked with Google Maps connected to the Voter Activation Network (VAN) database, geographically selected walkable regions for canvasses, weeded out points like recently visited voters or strategic decisions based on age, theme, etc; organized map data to fit with voter data for volunteer walking packets; sorted data at end of the night and reported it on the phone and online to headquarters; and repeated the process every afternoon and evening.
